IVSA Latvia delegate has represented FVM at the 72nd IVSA Congress in Copenhagen
From 23 July until 3 August , 2023, Violet Adeline Wierbos, 3rd year Veterinary Medicine student and Board member of IVSA Latvia (International Veterinary Students' Association) attended the 72nd IVSA Congress in Copenhagen , Denmark. Violet was the only delegate of IVSA Latvia, thus representing al veteriany students of Latvia.
The Congress program was rich with excursions, practical workshops, lectures by renowned professors and veterinarians, as well as general assemblies, during which important IVSA matters were discussed. During the Congress, Violet had the opprotunity to promote LBTU and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, as well as the Latvian culture. Even though Violet is not from Latvia, she expressed a great deal of love for the Latvian culture. Students from all over the world had the chance to get a taste of the Latvian cuisine and learned to express themselves in Latvian.
In the following days, many students wanted to find out more about veterinay studies at the LBTU, their questions got answered during the "Intenational stands". Students from various countries learned more about the university and the opportunities that it offers.
The 72nd IVSA Congress was a great success and Violet is looking forward to her next term as a Board member of IVSA Latvia. The main goal of IVSA Latvia is to unite the veterinary students of the LBTU and to give them a chance to take part in cultural exchanges with students from across the globe. Their mission is to encourage veterinary students to advance their careers, by providing them with opportunities, raging from cultural exchanges to intern- and externships.
