Our mission: To ensure the health of the public and animals, food safety, by conducting and ethical training of specialists, Veterinary Medicine science and professional development.

The faculty of Veterinary Medicine is the only faculty in Latvia that offers studies to gain the qualification - veterinarian. Graduates of the study programme have the right to establish a private veterinary medical practice, to work in already established veterinary clinics, in Food and Veterinary administration and service institutions. The faculty oversees three institutes, the LBTU Veterinary Clinic, the LBTU Small Animal Shelter and the Clinical Research Centre.
