Speakers:
Dr. Aleksandr Semjonov is a veterinary anaesthesiologist and senior lecturer in anaesthesia and intensive care at the Estonian University of Life Sciences. He graduated from the same university in 2011 and performed his clinical training in anaesthesia departments of Universities of Vienna and Helsinki. In 2012 he joined Wildlife Pharmaceuticals company in South Africa as a researcher and clinical advisor. Dr Semjonov obtained his Doctoral Degree in veterinary anaesthesia in 2021. Since 2016 he holds the position of Chief Clinical Officer at the Estonian University of Life Sciences, supervising work of Chair of Clinical Veterinary Medicine and Animal Clinic. He is an author of several scientific publications and book chapters in the field of anaesthesia. Dr. Semjonov has a special interest to lung mechanical ventilation, anaesthesia of cardiac patients and wildlife anaesthesia. Annual speaker at seminars and webinars of Veterinary Education Centre of Latvia for last 7 years! This year we will be happy to meet Dr. Semjonov in person again! (Many of you will surely remember last December when A.Semjonov presented last webinar for us live from auditorium of our Faculty!) Everyone who has heard Dr. Semjonov speak at least once will agree that the lecturer provides a broad, in-depth multidisciplinary insight into a specific topic, being able to present it in an easy-to-understand and attractive manner.
Laurent Locquet, DVM MRCVS GPCert (VC) Diplomate ECVIMCA (Cardiology) graduated in 2015 from Ghent University, Belgium and worked in general practice in South Africa and in Belgium, primarily with cats, dogs and wildlife, before starting a rotating internship in a busy referralcenter in the UK. During his internship, Dr Locquet obtained his certificate in Veterinary Cardiology, and thereafter completed a Residency in Veterinary Cardiology at the University of Ghent. He successfully obtained his Diploma before joining a busy referral practice in greater London area for a year before joining Dick White Referrals in 2022 as a specialist in veterinary cardiology. Dr Locquet enjoys all aspects of veterinary cardiology though he has a particular interest in procedures involving cardiopulmonary bypass, minimally invasive interventions and wildlife cardiology.

Workshop with A. Semjonov and L. Locquet (work in small groups, places limited) The main topics of the workshop will include anaesthesia monitoring principles: detection of common complications on the simulator and principles of their management. The second part - diagnostics of cardiac problems including basics of ECHO and ECG.
